I have liked this video since I first saw it. I liked the words of the song but never knew the words. Today, I took the time to analyze the video and the lyrics to the song.
I believe that I'm not the guy that Jennifer is talking about, nor would I place myself in her shoes. She feels locked down and doesn't want to be imprisoned to someone who is holding her down; holding her back. She wants the real thing. She wants that equal give and take. She wants true love and wants to break loose of her current bondage to her current situation.
I can't blame her really! Who doesn't want the great experience of pure love? Who wants to be held back from their full potential? I'd rather have someone that will bring it out of me. To make me shine! That someone that views me as worthy and me the same of them!
The difference between her and I is she decided to go out at the end of the video. She is ready to make her change happen. I've been sitting inside contemplating. Questioning myself, when I do go out, what would I be looking for. Lets say for now I've taken my shower and dried off. the next step is getting dressed. I wonder how long that will take!

It is hard to get out there. Cuz you know you might come back in dirty. Sometimes you're going to get dirty but it's not the end of the world. You'll survivie it like you have in the past. I'm not sure if my statements were for you or for me..LOL
At a time like this you need friends to pick you up, dress you, and just go out without any expectations but to laugh and do anything but sulk. If you don't want to be around friends then do as I did and go to a movie alone or do something you enjoy. One day I made myself a tourist of my own city and learned what was going on and did it for free.

Baby steps. Don't rush into anything. Remember, a song is 5 to 6 minutes. They have to relay a whole lot of info in that short time. U have a life span. Take your time.
