I want to be able to take advantage of my time, using my days, months and years to the best of my ability. I've recently limited my outings to beaches, movies, and restaurants. I'm going to be doing things quite different this year. The only thing I want to accomplish this year is 1 thing from this list:
- Traveling outside of the continental US (Hawaii will not be eligible)
- Go camping (pitch a tent, deal with nature and build a fire type of outing)
- Kayaking (been trying to do this for like 2 years or more)
- Visit a southern state and stay there for a week (Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas or California)
- Go on a cruise
- Go on a random road trip
- Maybe skiing for the winter months
Quite frankly, I'm tired of staying in this boring state of NJ. I'm tired of doing the same ol things. I am frequently held back by friends with reservations and inhibitions. I can't do that this year. I'm gonna do me. If you wanna join in then fine. If not, then fine. I hope to do more than 1 item on the list, but my goal is to do at least 1. I'm open for anyone who may want to tag along and participate.

come on down to Ga man :)
How about a cruise to the Bahamas?
Lil Brotha; if you really want to treat yourself to a vacation or otherwise, proper planning is a must. Sizzle is coming up and if you drive and share cost with friends it can be affordable and Fun. Houston Splash is nice too. A cruise is the best deal... accomodations and meals included.
You should rent a car and drive to Florida. Stay there for a week and catch a 3 or 5 day cruise from Tampa or Miami. That's 3 of those things covered right there. Or drive across state, Rte 22 I think, and go to the Delaware River just above the Lehigh Valley and rent a kayak and go down the river as far as you can. If you hit Trenton, you may have gone to far but you would have a great time I'm sure. Maybe you can fill up your gas tank one day and just drive north. Go as far as the border and with your passport in one hand, a clean pair of draws in the other and decide whether you want to see Toronto or Quebec or any little place in between.
I personally hate NJ, but there are so many things that you can do right in the State and there are so many ways that you can easily leave the State to do something else. Just don't let company be an issue, remember if you are having a good time then people will follow. You are young and the responsibilities you have now will be no where near what you will have 20 years from now so why wait? Do it while you still can.
If you would like to come to Minnesota and go Skiing I'm all over it! =)
Wishing you success in one of these adventures.
you can drive south for a week but it won't get u to cali ! the important part is you have a dream...
Its good you are no longer going to wait around for others to do the things you want to do. Sometimes you just have to make the plans, if folks want to come with you they can, if not it doesn't phase what you are doing. Good Luck with the list. Cali is a great place to visit and they have something for everyone. Wine tasting in Napa, star watching in LA/Hollywood, sightseeing in San Fran, or relaxing in San Diego. Clearly I like the west coast :-)
