I dont know whether to look at this in a good way or a bad way. I had a conversation about my "straightness" on myspace. This person told me that they wouldn't add me as their friend because I had straight on my profile. It was brought to my attention that the orientatioin is optional on the page, so why did I choose to to place straight on there? There's alot of people on myspace that I knew in the past and know presently. By placing otherwise or not indicating, makes me look guilty of something I dont want to be judged by. Am I wrong for placing straight on my profile? Send thoughts and opinions...

This result can also be related to the Kinsey Scale:

0 = exclusively heterosexual
1 = predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual
2 = predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 = equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 = predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 = predominantly homosexual, incidentally heterosexual
6 = exclusively homosexual

I never mention sexual orientation on those things, you don't have to do it and it's really not a friend-choosing-factor so... instead of puttin "straight", well dont put anything

hmmmmmm ... interesting. i know someone else who did that and said, "why does it say straight your page when you look like the biggest gay man on the myspace page!" not sure if yours is that way ... but do you want!

The page isn't a very "gay looking" page and I'm not doing anything that might suggest so... just the fact that I have straight on the profile. If i dont put anything do you think that not answering people will assume?

My question is, should it matter? If I am trying to meet friends, I don't exclude or include someone only because of their sexual orientation. I try to remember that it took me a while to feel comfortable with my sexuality. With that, someone else may not be to that point in their life. In the end, it really isn't that deep for a friendship. Now for a lover...... that's another story.

i don't think u should have to broadcast ur sexuality on every site or every place u go. i don't put myself out there on sites like myspace and blackplanet (just to name two) if my face is out there. not everyone that comes to visit one of my pages need to know my personal life, thats y its called a personal life. fight the power, keep straight on ur page

It's your profile, you can put whatever you want to do with it.

Any page you create is your page, you can put whatever you want on it.

Maybe people who know you are gay think that by you having st8 on your page is a way of you lying to yourself or something. I don't know.

Being that is is "your space" you can put whatever you want!

I agree with Jay,

You don't have to broadcast you sexuality on every page, Gay or Straight! But hey, you can put whatever you want on there... all depends on your intent and purpose.

My question is...Do you walk around life with a tag on your forhead (gay, straight, bi, etc), so then why should you do it on the net if you dont so choose?

On another note- How in the hell did I score a 3.3 on that test? Must be broken

The test has to be broken! This is an outrage. Can I get an Accurate gay test please? wheew ok, I vented!

I think I'm going to remove it from there. Afterall, as long as dick and booty remain in my sexuality as a set, i am lying to myself and everybody else. If anybody has a problem with the option, they can deal with it!

Thanks for your opinions...
